What are Day Program Activities?

Day Program Activities are structured, group-based programs that bring NDIS participants together in a supported environment to take part in social, recreational, and developmental activities. Programs are typically run at a centre or community venue on a regular, scheduled basis, giving you a consistent routine alongside the chance to build friendships and new skills.

Day Program Activities are generally funded under Core Supports, Assistance with Social and Community Participation, and in some cases may also be supported under Capacity Building funding, depending on the goals in your NDIS plan. This funding covers staffing, materials, and facility costs for group programs.

How this differs from Community Participation: Day Program Activities are structured, scheduled group programs run at a centre or venue, offering routine and social connection. Community Participation, by comparison, is more flexible and individual, one-on-one support to access whatever activities interest you, whenever you choose. Many participants use both.
